Building Manager Leland Francois helped keep the BAA office at 715 Colorado Ave ticking, doing tons of maintenance, upgrades, and landscape upkeep. He ran a property maintenance business for many local property owners, and rented a desk in BAA’s back office. He earned the Cheek Smooch in BAA’s Fall 1995 newsletter for his outstanding efforts. Plus he was just an all-around nice guy.

He volunteered extensively at the Midtown Garden and  he was a key volunteer and mentor to many youths at the East Palo Alto Garden.

Leland started the Free At Last Gardening Club, and developed Gardenkits.
