Kate Macneale was an Earth Day 1990 volunteer and sister of Neil Macneale, a BAA Schools Group member.

“I was a volunteer for Earth Day 1990 during the summer of 1989,” recalled Kate in 2025, when she donated some of her 1990 photos to the BAA Archives. “I was attending a high school on the East Coast but I must have come home for spring break in March of 1990 and taken these photos at the office. I remember the hustle in March was very thrilling. I included a couple shots from the rally in DC as well.”

“I wasn’t really involved in BAA (I was in college and then off to grad school in the 1990s), but I have many fond memories of the electric car in my parents’ garage and of interacting with the Schools Group a bit.”
