Bio
Jim has led or created many BAA projects, helping the Schools Group in the early years, leading the Urban Agriculture Project, and launching the Arastradero Preserve Stewardship Project, among others.
He was also responsible for BAA acquiring garden plots in East Palo Alto and Midtown Palo Alto, and orchestrated BAA’s move to a new home at 715 Colorado Ave in 1994. He served as BAA’s Co-Director with Peter Drekmeier for a period in the mid-1990s.
Post BAA
After co-organizing the dismantling of three structures at Arastradero Preseve, Jim founded the Reusable Lumber Company, specializing in the salvage and reuse of old-growth timber. He married Camas Hubenthal, who had worked at Committee for Green Foothills.
